The leaders of Britain, the United States, France, Germany and Italy discussed the situation around Ukraine in a telephone conversation on Monday. London called for the support of all the integrity of Ukraine. This was stated in a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister of Britain, reports Korrespondent.
In particular, the head of the British government, Boris Johnson, urged Russia to reduce the level of tension.
At the same time, European leaders confirmed that they firmly support the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
"The leaders agreed that the recent G20 and NATO foreign ministers' meetings were useful platforms for discussing this topic," Downing Street noted.
The politicians "stressed the need to provide a united front in the face" of Russian threats and aggression.
"The prime minister said that Britain would continue to use all the economic and diplomatic tools at its disposal to prevent any Russian aggression against Ukraine," Johnson's office said.
It informed that the politicians "agreed to talk again after President Biden's conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday."
