Ukrainian, Moldovan and Georgian premiers to meet with EU leaders in Brussels

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal and Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilina will meet today with European Council President Charles Michel, EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen and European Parliament President David-Maria Sassoli.

This is the Associated Trio's first visit to Brussels before the Eastern Partnership Initiative summit on December 15.

The prime ministers have already discussed expectations from the summit today on the eve of meetings with EU officials.

As a reminder, in May, the foreign ministers of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia signed a Memorandum on the creation of an "associated trio" in Kiev. The document is aimed at solving three main tasks: structuring consultations on European integration between the MFAs of the three countries, engaging in dialogue with EU institutions and members, and coordinating positions within the framework of the Eastern Partnership. In July, Tbilisi hosted a summit of the heads of state of the "associated trio".
