Volodymyr Zelensky met with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with the management of large international companies, which are among the biggest investors in our country's economy, and Ukrainian companies that were able to build international-level businesses, the Official Internet Representative Office of the President of Ukraine reports.

 

"I want to thank you for your work in Ukraine, for the jobs created and taxes paid, and also for the fact that you are always active in submitting proposals to further improve the business climate in the country," the head of state said.

 

Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Ukraine has launched the most important process of de-oligarchization which aims at ensuring real transformation of the state in the interests of the entire society and realization of the strategic course of the country towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

 

The President noted that in Ukraine the fundamental judicial reform has been unblocked after the adoption of the laws on reloading the High Council of Justice and resumption of work of the High Qualification Commission of Judges, the authorities initiated the reform of prosecution bodies according to the best international standards.

 

The President of the American Chamber of Commerce Andrey Gunder underlined that for the companies-members of the Association the trust is the key and this meeting with the President of Ukraine is the sign of such trust which is built on the highest level.

 

He reminded that the companies-members of the American Chamber of Commerce have invested over 50 billion USD into Ukraine, continue doing so and created more than 400 thousand workplaces.

 

According to Andrei Gunder, for the work of these companies are important, in particular, security, rule of law, judicial reform, macroeconomic stability, fair and predictable tax policy, fighting against shady economy, digitalization, investment protection and property rights, equal game rules without preferences and transparent privatization.

 

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce, founder and CEO of Horizon Capital Olena Kosharnaya said that the main mission of the Business Association is to help make Ukraine attractive for investment, innovation and job creation.

 

In turn, the general director of the Qatari port operator Qterminals Neville Robert Stansfield Bisset recalled that under the concession agreement of the Ukrainian port Olvia the company has committed to invest heavily in the facility.

 

"We are looking forward to expanding our business in Ukraine. We feel a huge potential and we are happy to work here. Predictability is important for us, a certain visibility of how we work," he said.
