Taliban says Afghanistan is ready to maintain friendly relations with all countries

The Taliban stated that Afghanistan is ready to maintain friendly relations and economic ties with all countries. Mohammad Hasan Akhund, the acting Prime Minister of the Interim Government of Afghanistan, said this.

This is reportedly his first public address since taking office.

"He stressed that the Taliban will not allow any forces to use Afghan territory to threaten other countries. He said the Taliban are now focused on rebuilding the state and any attempt to put pressure on Afghanistan is doomed to fail," the report said.

Akhund also urged Afghans to rally behind nation-building and for officials to serve the people. He separately added that the Taliban respects women's right to education.
