Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has welcomed the decision of the International Monetary Fund. We shall remind you that the International Monetary Fund has agreed a tranche of almost 700m dollars for Ukraine. On November 22, the IMF Board of Directors made a positive decision to complete the first review of the Stand-by programme.
Denis Shmygal stressed that the positive assessment of international partners demonstrates the successful movement of Ukraine in the implementation of reforms, informs the Government Portal.
"With the measures, which Ukraine has implemented in terms of reforming the judicial system, continuation of the reform in the financial sector, we confirmed the status of Ukraine as a reliable and responsible partner. The IMF funds will be used to maintain the stability of the financial system and to combat the consequences of COVID-19", - stressed the head of the government.
Thanked the IMF for the allocation of the tranche to Ukraine and the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
"I am grateful to the IMF board of directors for the positive decision to complete the revision of the stand-by program, which provides Ukraine with a tranche of about $700 million," Zelensky wrote in the microblogging Twitter on Tuesday night.
According to him, these funds will be used to support the financial system and to combat the consequences of the coronavirus disease COVID-19.
