The mobilization of the world community to resist Russian aggression should be a clear signal for Moscow to restrain itself. This statement was made on the air of BBC Radio 4 by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmitry Kuleba.
"A military operation against Ukraine is certainly one option on the table, but the chances that Russia will accept this event will increase if Ukraine and the West show weakness. Ukraine has no intention of doing that. We are ready for any scenario. What I've been trying to do in Washington and Brussels over the last two weeks is to mobilize international support for Ukraine," the minister said.
"We got what we wanted. In particular, I want to commend Prime Minister Johnson's recent comment, which was absolutely clear about the need for partners to choose between Russian gas and Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity. We see the whole world mobilizing, and this is a clear signal to Moscow: a deterrence signal," Kuleba said.
The foreign minister noted Russian aggression since 2014, not only against Ukraine, but also against other countries where a democratic regime reigns. Aggression is represented by cyber attacks, military actions, disinformation, provoking a crisis in the field of energy and others, the minister said.
"All these elements must be considered as a whole, they are not isolated events. What we are facing now is just another peak of such aggressive actions taken by Russia," Kuleba noted.
