Parliament's agenda: tax law, fines for selling medicines to children, BEB's investigations

The agenda of today's meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine includes 34 questions. In particular, parliamentarians must consider the imposition of fines for selling medicines to children, as well as the jurisdiction of the Economic Security Bureau.


The draft law № 5123-1 provides for an addition to the Code of Administrative Offences of Ukraine. Article 42-5 shall establish liability for sale (also for distance sale) and delivery of medicines to minors. It is assumed that there will be a fine of four hundred to eight hundred non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (from 6.8 thousand to 13.6 thousand UAH with non-taxable minimum of 17 UAH).


The draft law № 3959-1 on amendments to the administrative and criminal law on the introduction of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine shall be considered by parliamentarians during the second reading.


It is assumed that the law will vest the BEB detectives with functions to enable them to implement certain powers of pre-trial investigation of criminal offenses.


In addition, if there is time, MPs should consider the scandalous draft law № 5600.


The following bills were also submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for the second reading:


- on multimodal transportation No. 4258;


- On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Postal Communication" № 3821;


- On the clarification of the order of access of notaries to the Unified State Demographic Register No. 3989.


The bills prepared for consideration in the first reading, among others, are:


- on postal communication No. 4353, 4353-1, 4353-2;


- on extension of the anticorruption legislation to the members of the Board of Directors of the Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine, the Fund of Compulsory State Social Insurance of Ukraine in case of unemployment, the Pension Fund, members of the Supervisory Board of the Pension Fund and respective officials № 5881, 5881-1


- on regulation of the issue of social protection of coronavirus disease victims (COVID-19) of medical workers of healthcare institutions of all forms of ownership № 6192, 6192-1.
