"Arrived in Georgia with the intention to visit in the penitentiary institution № 18 in the city of Gldane citizen of Ukraine, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the National Council of Reforms under the President of Ukraine Mikheil Saakashvili," - said the ombudsman.
Lyudmila Denisova emphasizes that she received a letter last week from Saakashvili, where he complained about deteriorating health and unsatisfactory detention conditions.
"The Embassy of Ukraine from Georgia has sent a request to the Ministry of Justice of Georgia for permission for me to visit Mikheil in the penitentiary № 18 on November 16, 2021.
I'm waiting for a decision!", - said the Ukrainian ombudsman.
The day before Mikheil Saakashvili weakened and could not get out of bed for the first time on the 44th day of his hunger strike. His doctor Nikoloz Kipshidze informed about this.
According to Kipshidze, for the first time Saakashvili could not get out of bed to meet him. That is why the doctor had to spend the last visit in the politician's cell.
