Georgian security services announced plans of Saakashvili's associates to overthrow the government

Georgian authorities report that Mikheil Saakashvili's associates are planning to organize mass riots to overthrow the government between October and December. According to the State Security Service of Georgia, the riots will be launched under the slogan of fighting the "pro-Russian government" after the publication of reports by the European Commission and the European Union, Novosti Georgia reports.

The organizers of this plan are former Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili, his former deputy, now the deputy of Ukraine's military counterintelligence, Giorgi Lortkipanidze, former Saakashvili bodyguard Mikheil Baturin, and the commander of the "Georgian Legion" operating in Ukraine, Mamuka Mamulashvili.

According to the SGB, this plan involves coordination and financial support from some foreign countries. As part of its implementation, it is planned to replicate the Euromaidan scenario: the creation of a tent city and barricades on central avenues and strategic sites in Georgia, as well as the seizure of government buildings.

In addition, the State Security Service claims that they are planning a provocation with the blowing up of a tent and the death of protesters in order to create an image of victims of the regime and escalate the conflict between protesters and security forces.

The State Security Service of Georgia has stated its intention to counter these plans.
