Official meetings at the Ukraine-U.S. Strategic Partnership Commission meeting

Within the framework of participation in the meeting of the Ukraine-U.S. Strategic Partnership Commission, which took place on November 10 in Washington, Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and Andriy Yermak, head of the Presidential Office, met with Anthony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States, the Government Portal reported.

The importance of signing the renewed charter was noted during the meeting. It was stressed that the document opens new prospects for deepening cooperation between the two countries in areas such as security and defense, economic cooperation, protection of human rights and development of democracy.

Participants of the meeting exchanged opinions on security situation around Ukraine. Anthony Blinken was briefed on the situation in the east of our country. The importance of efforts to ensure security in the region was noted.

On the same day, Dmytro Kuleba and Andriy Yermak held a meeting in Washington with US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland.

The parties noted that the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the USA had been significantly strengthened this year thanks to the efforts of the leaders of the two countries, Presidents Vladimir Zelensky and Joseph Biden.

The interlocutors discussed the implementation of the priorities of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Ukraine-U.S. Strategic Partnership Commission and paid attention to the current security situation in Donbas and along the Ukrainian border.

In addition, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba met with Jake Sullivan, national security adviser to the American leader, in Washington.

A statement to this effect was published on the website of the White House. It is noted that the interlocutors discussed the progress made in the bilateral priorities identified by Biden and Zelensky in their September 1 joint statement.

"Both sides welcomed the resumption of the work of the bilateral Strategic Partnership Commission on November 10, as well as cooperation in energy security, governance reforms and anti-corruption," the statement noted.
