The government continues to strengthen the capacity of the medical system. This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Schmigal during his opening speech at the Cabinet meeting the day before, reports the Government Portal.
The head of government expressed gratitude to all the medical professionals who are fighting the COVID-19 pandemic for the second year in a row.
"In some regions there is indeed a peak load on doctors, medical institutions and the medical system as a whole. I have been in the regions and have seen that the situation is really difficult and in some places it needs intervention," said the Prime Minister.
During the meeting, the Government approved the reallocation of funds for additional subsidies to local budgets of Kirovohrad and Odesa regions, which would be used for the maintenance of health facilities. Also 56 million UAH of subventions will be sent to Sumy and Cherkasy regions for the purchase of oxygen and oxygen concentrators. To strengthen the capacity of laboratory centers in Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk regions 4.1 million UAH will be redistributed for the purchase of additional PCR-systems.
In addition, Denis Shmigal reminded that the Government had already allocated 400 million UAH to the regions for the purchase of oxygen stations.
"The only way to support doctors and, most importantly, to protect their own health is vaccination and compliance with anti-epidemic quarantine rules. Ukraine has a sufficient number of vaccines for everyone. We are in constant contact with manufacturers to ensure uninterrupted supply of safe vaccines for Ukrainians, "- Prime Minister stressed.
