The results achieved by the Ukrainian delegation as a result of the negotiations at the Glasgow summit have been announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
According to the Minister, the President of Ukraine has held 13 negotiations with his colleagues - heads of leading foreign states, including NATO Secretary General, the President of the USA and the Chancellor of Germany. Thanks to these dialogues Ukraine's strategic cooperation with these countries has been strengthened and diplomatic borders have been expanded.
During the meetings with the leaders of the countries the Head of the Ukrainian state raised strategic issues concerning the strengthening of security for Ukraine, military actions in the east of the state, energy, trade cooperation and investment policy.
"The president in all meetings paid special attention to security in Donbass, which remains tense due to Russia's destructive actions. It was about what we can do together with partners to stop Russia and make it behave constructively in negotiations. A separate topic was Ukraine's energy security," the Ukrainian foreign minister said.
According to Kuleba, Volodymyr Zelenski met with the presidents of Angola and Liberia for the first time. Thanks to these meetings, Ukraine's diplomatic borders and its export opportunities have expanded.
Kuleba also noted that Ukraine came west to Glasgow "not empty-handed, but with a concrete contribution to stop climate change."
"Our assistance to partners in overcoming fires in Turkey and Greece this summer vividly demonstrates this," the foreign minister summarized.
We have previously reported on Uladzimir Zelenski's speech at the UN climate conference in Glasgow.
