On the sidelines of the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow, Scotland, President Vladimir Zelenski held talks with leaders of several countries.


"The heads of state and heads of government spoke both about important aspects of bilateral cooperation between the countries and about global and regional challenges related to climate change, pandemic COVID-19, the energy crisis and the security situation in Europe, particularly in eastern Ukraine, and the world", - said in the Office of the President.


It is also noted that at the bilateral meeting, Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson discussed important issues of bilateral cooperation, military-defence cooperation, European and global agenda.


On the first day of the summit the Ukrainian leader managed to communicate with the Prime Ministers of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Israel Naftali Bennett, Sweden Stephan Leven, Georgia Irakli Garibashvili, Luxembourg Xavier Bethel, Chancellor of Austria Alexander Schallenberg and President of Guinea-Bissau Umaru Sisoku Embalo.


Also on the first day of the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Zelensky spoke with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, President of Angola Joao Lorenzo, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau


During the meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister Volodymyr Zelenski noted Canada's unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, briefed on the current security situation in Donbas and the negotiations to achieve peace, discussed the threat to European energy security caused by the launch of Nord Stream 2, expressed hope for Canada's leadership role in supporting Ukraine's membership in NATO.


The President of Ukraine expressed his hope for the strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries and the expansion of the free trade agreement between Ukraine and Canada that is already yielding positive results. He also spoke about the facilitation of travel to Canada for Ukrainian citizens.
