Russian Federation cannot formulate how it understands the Minsk agreements - Ukrainian delegation to the TCG

Russia's representatives in the Trilateral Contact Group to resolve the conflict in Donbas cannot explain its vision of the Minsk agreements, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

This is stated in a statement of the Ukrainian delegation to the TAG.

It is noted that during the regular meeting of the TAG, which was held on October 27 in the video format, the Russian side has not been able to formulate how it understands the Minsk agreements.

"The Russian side has not been able to formulate how it understands the Minsk agreements. The Ukrainian delegation once again stressed that the basis of the settlement is the implementation of the decisions of the leaders of the Normandy format states, as well as the entire package of the Minsk agreements. And until the Russian representatives will not be able to determine - between whom these documents are concluded, it is difficult to count on serious progress in the discussion of the political part," the report said.

"During a meeting of the Humanitarian Subgroup, a proposal was put forward to unilaterally return three women held in connection with the conflict in the non-controlled territory to the Ukrainian government. However, Russian representatives did not support this idea. Also, the Russian delegation was not interested in the fate of the previously detained citizen Kosyak: they expressed no desire to discuss it," the Ukrainian delegation stressed.

They note that participants of the subgroup on social and economic issues continued to discuss the current issues of water supply and mobile communications in the occupied territories.

Also agreed to consider the possibility of extending the payment cards "Oschadbank" for the payment of pensions due to the deterioration of the epidemic situation with COVID-19.

"The Ukrainian delegation continues to insist on the need for the speedy release of all persons held in connection with the conflict, the opening of the checkpoints, the strict observance of the ceasefire and the implementation of the Paris Summit decisions," the delegation noted.

Earlier, it was noted that representatives of the Russian delegation demanded the removal of the official representative of Ukraine Galina Tretyakova, replacing her with Viktor Medvedchuk.

"They only want to deal with Putin's cousin. Impossible demands are being made to block the work of the subgroup," Ukrainian TAG member Serhiy Garmash believes.
