On November 1, Ukraine will start importing electricity from Belarus. The UNN reports this, citing the results of the auction by Ukrenergo for the right to import electricity in November, at which the state-owned company Enerhoatom bought the relevant capacities.
According to the auction, NNEGC Energoatom bought the right to supply 885 out of 900 possible megawatts of Belarusian electricity to Ukraine. Another 15 megawatts was purchased by Electro Community LLC.

Ukrenergo also held an auction for access to the interstate crossing from Russia to import electricity.
According to the results, eight companies received access to the crossing from Russia as of November. A total of 2,200 MW were offered. ERU Trading and Onk Group received the most - 654 MW and 500 MW.
Stimex, ElectroTrading Group and De Traiting also took part. They received between 200 and 290 MW of crossover. The other participants received between 80 and 200 MW.

It should be noted that the import of electricity from Russia and Belarus was banned on April 8, 2020 by the decision of the NKREKU. This was attributed to problems with balancing the Ukrainian energy system. The decision became possible after the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law "On Electricity Market".
On January 1, after a nine-month ban, imports were allowed to resume. This happened against the background of the crisis situation with coal supplies to thermal power plants and the tariff crisis.
However, on May 26, the National Commission, which regulates the energy and utilities sector, decided to restrict up to 0 MW of electricity imports from Russia and Belarus until October 1.
On September 29, the NERC extended the ban on electricity imports from Belarus and Russia until November 1.
