Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has appealed to billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party, from prison, where he has been on hunger strike for 27 days.
"I appeal to Ivanishvili:
You've curtained and blacked out my windows, cut my phone, you're afraid to move me, not just to court, but even to a regular hospital.
If you had any courage at all you would have taken me out to that paid rally of yours and you would have debated with me there in front of people you yourself had gathered," this post appeared on Saakashvili's Facebook page.
.
Early this year, Georgia's richest man Bidzina Ivanishvili announced he was stepping down as chairman of the Georgian Dream party and even out of public politics, the Novosti-Georgia news agency reports. In recent years, Ivanishvili has been accused of running the country behind the scenes.
Today, the Georgian Dream is holding a meeting of its supporters on Freedom Square in Tbilisi. It is announced that about 100 thousand people will take part in the rally.
