Putin told that Ukraine needed to preserve gas transit

According to Russian President Dmitry Peskov's spokesman, Russia is ready to supply gas, and if Ukraine makes competitive offers, everything will continue to work. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

«The president (Vladimir Putin) has repeatedly said that if they continue to buy our gas, if they increase contracts, and, of course, if Ukraine makes competitive commercial offers, all this will continue to work,» he said.

At the same time, when asked who to turn to Ukraine to increase gas transit, he said that the target is European companies.

«It is these companies that can conclude new long-term agreements with the Russian monopolist. With increased volumes taking into account the growing demand for natural gas. That is, to transport something through the territory of Ukraine, you need someone to buy it. And this is exactly our buyers in Europe,» Peskov added.
