Ukraine will propose to the UN General Assembly in the resolution on human rights to use the declaration of the "Crimean Platform", - Dzhaparova

Ukraine with the support of partners is going to submit at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly a draft updated resolution on the human rights situation in the temporarily occupied Crimea and Sevastopol.   

 

  " The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to submit for consideration by the UN General Assembly a draft of the next and updated resolution "The situation with human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine", - said Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova. 

 

 According to Dzhaparova, the new version of the resolution will include information that reflects numerous facts of human rights violations in the temporarily occupied peninsula. It is noteworthy that they were reflected in the UN Secretary General's report entitled " The human rights situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine ".

 

The draft resolution may also take into account the results of the first summit of the "Crimean Platform", which took place in the Ukrainian capital on 23 August." The Declaration of the Platform confirmed that the protection of human rights in the temporarily occupied Crimea is a priority of this initiative", Dzhaparova stressed.    

 

 "The adoption of such a resolution is defined as one of the key priorities of the delegation of Ukraine at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, which will begin its work on September 14. The process of consultations with foreign partners will begin soon, the draft resolution itself will be presented at the end of October at the meeting of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, voting at the plenary session of the UN General Assembly will be held in December this year, "the diplomat said.
