President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenskaya arrived in Washington, where the Ukrainian head is to meet with US President Joe Biden. Zelensky announced this on his Instagram page.
"We arrived in Washington at the invitation of Joe Biden. Ahead is the discussion of important issues of strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States. I am sure our meeting will be meaningful, "Zelenskyy writes.
Elena Zelenskaya on her Instagram page announced the launch of an audio guide in Ukrainian at the estate of the first President of the United States of George Washington Mount Vernon and her meeting with Power women, the opening of the "Ukrainian House", a visit to the Holocaust Museum, working meetings at Stanford University and the San Francisco Department of Education and a visit to the De Young Art Gallery.
The President is staying in Washington for two days - August 31 and September 1, then is going to visit California. Among the already planned meeting in Washington is the meeting of the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States in the White House, the main components of this meeting have already been planned and agreed by both sides, meetings with the heads of ministries that are key for Ukrainian-American relations, as well as two important public presentations of the President and the First Lady for representatives of media, public and information and analytical centers.
In addition, the opening of the Ukrainian House is planned, as well as visits to places that are significant for relations between Ukraine and the United States in Washington.
The meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Joe Biden supposed to take place on August 31, was postponed to September 1.
According to the Office of the President, the leaders of the two countries should discuss the Russian aggression in Crimea and Donbass, the energy security of Kiev, the fight against corruption and projects for democratic reforms.
