Electricity shortage persists in Ukraine: power limitation schedules will be introduced for business and industry

Ukraine's energy system has been in deficit for the second day in a row, and it is planned to introduce power limitation schedules for business and industry in Ukraine. This was reported by Ukrenergo.

"Today, there is an electricity shortage in the power system throughout the day. Due to the damage caused by Russian missile strikes, power plants cannot produce enough electricity to cover all consumer needs," the statement said.

Ukrenergo warns that from 18:00 to 22:00, power limitation schedules will be applied to business and industry.

"These measures will not affect critical infrastructure facilities and defense companies," the company said.

In Kryvyi Rih district, consumption restrictions for industrial consumers continue to be in effect around the clock. For household consumers, restrictions are in effect in Kharkiv region. By morning, about 209 thousand household consumers were cut off from electricity.

According to Ukrenergo, as of 8:50 this morning, consumption was 1.3% lower than yesterday. On April 22, the evening maximum was 2.6% higher than the maximum of the previous working day, April 19. Thus, power engineers ask not to turn on powerful electrical appliances during the evening consumption peak, from 20:30 to 21:30.

During the day, it is planned to import electricity from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Moldova in the total amount of 9298 MWh.
