North Korean military has begun placing weapons in the demilitarized zone, namely near the border with South Korea. This was stated by the South Korean Ministry of Defense in Bloomberg.


"The South Korean military has noticed activity near posts in the demilitarized zone since the end of last week," the statement said.


It is noted that representatives of the South Korean Defense Ministry noticed a group of North Korean soldiers near small posts inside the demilitarized zone. They were installing weapons there. Seoul promised to take retaliatory measures, hinting at the restoration of South Korean border posts near the border.


South Korea's military also noted an increase in the activity of the DPRK's coastal artillery.
