For the first time, Ukraine used ATACMS missiles provided by the United States to strike airfields in Berdyansk and Luhansk. These attacks are likely to affect Russia's ability to both defend and attack at the front. This was reported by the British Ministry of Defense on Twitter.

British intelligence notes that it cannot yet name the final losses of the Russian Federation after Ukraine's strikes. Probably, 9 Russian military helicopters were destroyed in Berdyansk and 5 in Luhansk.

Intelligence explains that the Russians use Berdyansk as a forward operating base in southern Ukraine. The city is an important logistics hub on which both the offensive and defense capabilities of the Russian Federation depend.

"If this is confirmed, it is likely that these losses will affect Russia's ability to both defend and further offensive activities in this area," the British Ministry of Defense said.

As noted, it will be difficult to compensate for aviation losses in the short and medium term. Also, the loss of helicopters will increase pressure on Russian pilots and aircraft, which are already exhausted due to the war of aggression.

"There is a realistic possibility that this strike will force Russia to relocate its operational bases and control centers further from the front line, increasing the burden on logistics chains," the report says.

As a reminder, on the night of October 17, the Ukrainian military fired missiles at airfields in the temporarily occupied Luhansk and Berdyansk.
