Erdogan: No prospects of peace for Ukraine

Turkish President Erdogan has said that the prospects for peace in Ukraine remain unclear. He said this to journalists after returning from Sochi, Milliyet reports.

He emphasized that from the very beginning, Turkey has supported a peaceful settlement of the conflict, but currently sees no progress toward a solution.

"From the very first day, we have always been in favor of peace, dialogue and diplomacy. We did not aggravate the problem and did not add fuel to the fire, we tried to ensure that both sides meet. Unfortunately, the war, which has been going on for 1.5 years, is still ongoing. There are no prospects for peace on the horizon," Erdogan said.

The Turkish President also emphasized that "there are no winners in war and no losers in peace" and expressed hope for a just and sustainable peace based on international law.
