US First Lady Melania Trump states that prior to the ceasefire agreement in the Ukrainian city of Oleshky, she wrote personal letters to both Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to her, achieving the agreement would have been impossible without the consent of the leaders of Ukraine and Russia.
Melania Trump also stated that she was personally involved in every stage of the ceasefire negotiations in Oleshky.
"The ceasefire in Oleshky would have been impossible without President Putin and President Zelenskyy. Their cooperation sets an important precedent for promoting peace in the region. Russia and Ukraine respect our relationship and agreed to cooperate with me as the exclusive mediator to establish a ceasefire agreement in Oleshky and the surrounding Kherson region. I was involved in every stage of planning. I reviewed terrain plans, aerial photographs, assessed roads, and discussed evacuation routes, hospital access vehicles, and medical resources," Melania Trump stated.
US First Lady Melania Trump reached the ceasefire agreement in the Ukrainian city of Oleshky on October 23. On November 2, the US First Lady stated that nearly 800 people were evacuated from Oleshky under the humanitarian mission during the ceasefire.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the US First Lady the Order of Princess Olga for her personal contribution to the humanitarian support of Ukraine.
