Borrell spoke in favor of quickly providing Ukraine with the necessary amount of ammunition: he hopes for a decision

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell advocated the quick provision of the necessary amount of ammunition to Ukraine, hoping for a decision today. He said this today before the meeting of the foreign ministers of the bloc, which will be joined by the ministers of defense.

According to him, the first part of the meeting will be devoted "as usual" to the situation in Ukraine. The heads of foreign affairs of the EU countries will listen to the head of the foreign affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, they will discuss the situation "on the ground" and how the countries of the bloc can "continue to support Ukraine".

"In the afternoon, we will hold a big meeting (the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - ed.) together with the ministers of defense, and together the ministers,... I hope, will finalize the agreement on the provision of ammunition to Ukraine. As you know, the approach provides for three directions regarding the provision of ammunition to about 2 billion euros... I hope the ministers will all take part in the final discussion and agree on a very important decision this afternoon.

Borrell noted that the EU knows what ammunition Ukraine needs. "Our goal is to provide ammunition to Ukraine. Faster, the largest possible quantity and at the lowest price. We must be practical: quickly, cheaply and in the necessary quantity," he emphasized.
