Ukraine needs Soviet transformers to restore the power system

In Ukraine, there is a shortage of Soviet transformers with a voltage of 750 kV, which cannot be replaced by Western equipment. This was announced by the chairman of the board of the national company "Ukrenergo" Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, writes the Financial Times.

"Most of Ukraine's network uses the old Soviet system. It operates at a higher voltage than the EU, making it incompatible with most Western equipment. In particular, there is a shortage of 750 kV transformers," Kudrytskyi said.

The representative of "Ukrenergo" noted that during the first eight months of the war, the country's energy system was not so badly damaged, so the company had a sufficient supply of transformers. However, now the Soviet equipment turned out to be in short supply.
