"National legend of Ukraine": Zelenskiy posthumously awarded the artist Maria Pryimachenko

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, posthumously awarded the artist Maria Pryimachenko with the "National Legend of Ukraine" award. This is reported by the Office of the Head of State.

 

 "Maria Pryimachenko was posthumously awarded the National Legend of Ukraine award. Our outstanding artist created more than 800 incredible paintings. Her name is included in the World Encyclopedia of Art. UNESCO declared 2009 the year of Maria Priymachenko," Zelen wrote.

 

 On May 5, 2022, Priymachenko's painting "Flowers grew near the fourth block" was sold at a charity auction for almost 15 million hryvnias. The funds were transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces.

 

 "Even today, after a quarter of a century after her death, Maria Aksentivna helps our state. Ukraine finally says 'thank you' to her and gives her credit according to her contribution and merits," the president noted.
