North Korea has been preparing for another nuclear test for more than six months, - UN

The North Korea made preparations for a nuclear test during the first six months of this year, according to an excerpt from a confidential UN report.

This was reported by Reuters.

Independent observers of the UN Security Council sanctions committee on North Korea said that work at the Punggye-ri nuclear test site is paving the way for new tests to develop nuclear weapons.

The United States has previously warned that North Korea is ready to conduct a seventh nuclear test and says it will again push for stronger U.N. sanctions against Pyongyang if it takes place.

As a reminder, earlier North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said he was ready to use nuclear weapons in a potential conflict with the U.S. and South Korea.

Earlier, UN Secretary General António Guterres called for the total elimination of nuclear weapons in the world. The risks of their use have reached the level seen during the Cold War.
