Two-year agreement on cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and WHO ERB concluded

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal and the Director of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe Dr. Hans Kluge, reports the Government Portal.

 

"In close cooperation with the WHO, we have been able to respond to the challenges posed by the pandemic in time and to effectively combat the spread of new strains of the virus", - Prime Minister said.

 

Denis Shmygal stressed that the reform of medicine is a priority of the Government of Ukraine: "Our goal is to ensure decent conditions of delivery of health services to the Ukrainians.

 

During the meeting in the presence of Prime Minister a two-year agreement on cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe for the years 2022-2023 was concluded. The document was signed by the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko and the Director of WHO ERB Dr. Hans Kluge.

 

"It is a sign that today, for the first time in the long history of our relations, an agreement will be concluded at the beginning of the new year. This indicates the strong nature of our cooperation, the goal of which is to keep Ukrainians healthy. The cooperation agreement defines many of the challenges Ukraine faces in its health care system. Today we make a great contribution to the development of our partnership and to further fruitful cooperation, "- said Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.

 

Director of the WHO Regional Office for Europe Hans Kluge stressed that the new agreement is an important step to further strengthen the Ukrainian health system and implement current health reforms.
