Zelenskyy: Russia has never shown such demonstrative disrespect toward America

Last night, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine's energy facilities using ballistic missiles and drones, despite the "energy truce" declared by US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.

According to the President, Russian forces used 39 ballistic missiles and over 120 strike drones and loitering munitions against energy and critical infrastructure in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and Kharkiv.

"This targeted Russian ballistic strike was aimed precisely at the energy sector for which the American President defined a ceasefire. The strike was completely deliberate and demonstrative in its scale—Russia has never shown such demonstrative disrespect toward America before," Zelenskyy noted, adding that Russia does not consider Donald Trump's statements to be strong.

The President reported that following the night attack, at least 600,000 Ukrainians are left without electricity, and further outages are possible. Significant damage was inflicted on 26 electricity sector elements and four oil and gas facilities, and there are casualties and injuries.

"We ask America and everyone in the world who does not close their eyes to reality to react and react harshly. Russia missed the opportunity for de-escalation and clearly chose to continue its insane war of destruction," Zelenskyy stressed.

He called on Trump to introduce the strongest sanctions against Russia, stating that the US President has all the powerful and sufficient tools to bring peace through strength, justice, and pressure on the aggressor.

Zelenskyy also urged the US and Europe to provide Ukraine with additional Patriot missile packages.

"It is entirely fair for us to tell the United States, Europe, and all our partners that no country in the world should be left alone to face such a deranged and pro-war actor as Russia. I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine! Peace can only come through strength, and we ask America to remember this principle of Reagan’s. Glory to Ukraine!" Zelenskyy added.
