Kyiv lags behind other regions in fulfilling resilience plans while preparing for winter. It is necessary to speed up and make the required decisions, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.
He emphasized that "every Kyiv resident sees that Kyiv is really not prepared for winter."
According to the President, now in October, the situation is sometimes worse than during the previous winters of the full-scale war, as even single "Shahed" drone strikes lead to power and water outages in the capital.
"Unfortunately, there are many other issues regarding shelters, school preparation, the construction of protective structures, public transport operation, and preparing residential buildings in Kyiv for winter," he specified.
Zelensky noted that Kyiv lags behind other Ukrainian regions in resilience, adding that he discussed this with community representatives, stating that "some of them have done much more under far more difficult conditions," following his meetings with Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Zaporizhzhia Oblast Defense Council Chairman Ivan Fedorov.
