New shelling in Sumy region: civilian is wounded, investigation is launched

A town in Sumy region was shelled with mortars, which resulted in the injury of a civilian, a 62-year-old man, who was hospitalized. This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office of Sumy region on its Telegram channel.

 

 

According to the investigation, on May 29, 2024, at about 11:00 a.m., Russians used methods of warfare prohibited by international law, firing mortars at the civilian infrastructure of the town of Seredyno-Buda in the Shostka district. As a result of the attack, a civilian man aged 62 was injured and hospitalized.


The Shostka District Prosecutor's Office launched a pre-trial investigation into the shelling for violations of the laws and customs of war.


Currently, prosecutors, together with other law enforcement agencies, are recording the consequences of the shelling, and the materials of the criminal proceedings will be transferred to the SBU Office in Sumy region.
