US failed to help Iran after plane crash: official statement

The Iranian government appealed to the United States for help after the plane crash with President Ebrahim Raisi, but Washington failed to respond to this request. This was announced by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, cited by Reuters.

Miller said that the Iranian government had asked the United States for help. We have made it clear to them that we stand ready to assist, as we do in response to any request from a foreign government in similar situations.

The State Department spokesperson also added that the United States was unable to help Iran for “logistical reasons.”

When asked whether the United States was concerned about possible accusations from Iran in the death of the president, Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin denied a connection between the United States and the plane crash.
