Police have charged the attacker on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico with attempted premeditated murder in retaliation for the protection of the constitutional official. Writer Juraj Cintula, who is accused of the crime, faces a sentence of 25 years to life imprisonment. This is reported by Dennik N.
It is noted that the fact that the shooter acted out of revenge and against a constitutional official who was under protection will be an aggravating circumstance that may determine the final punishment for the crime.
The released man is now being held in a police cell at the National Criminal Agency in Nitra.
Earlier we reported that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot and wounded. The attacker was detained, according to local media.
