Estonian parliament votes to use frozen Russian assets in favor of Ukraine

The Estonian parliament has voted in favor of a bill that allows the use of frozen Russian assets to rebuild Ukraine. Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced this on social network X.

The document was supported by an overwhelming majority of votes.

“Our parliament has overwhelmingly passed a law that will allow us to use Russia's frozen assets for the benefit of Ukraine! I hope the president will declare it a law as soon as possible,” Tsahkna wrote.

The Estonian Foreign Minister added that this initiative “brought Europe one step closer to setting a precedent.”
