Six regions of Ukraine are under attack: Russia attacked energy infrastructure again

On the night of May 8, Russian troops struck again at Ukraine's energy infrastructure, hitting facilities in six regions. This was reported by Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko and the head of Zaporizhzhia RMA Ivan Fedorov.

Galushchenko emphasized that the enemy does not stop its attempts to deprive Ukrainians of electricity, again carrying out large-scale attacks on energy facilities.

The attacks took place in Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsia regions. The consequences are still being clarified, but power workers are already working to eliminate them.

The Minister called on Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly, especially in the morning and evening, emphasizing that the enemy seeks to deprive Ukraine of the ability to generate and transmit electricity.

The head of the Zaporizhzhia RMA reported damage to critical and civilian infrastructure. Fedorov emphasized that there is destruction, but no casualties.

Ukrenergo also noted that strikes were recorded in 5 regions, and equipment at one of its facilities in the central region was damaged. During the night attack, explosions were also heard in Kharkiv, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv regions, as well as in Kyiv and Kyiv region.
