NATO is unofficially considering a scenario in which Russia retains the territories it has seized, while the rest of Ukraine joins NATO. This was reported by La Repubblica.
According to the publication, the West fears such a scenario if Trump wins. The newspaper calls it "Kyiv's surrender."
"No one is officially talking about it. But the idea of a US-backed deal in the event of Biden's defeat is known to everyone. Territories in exchange for security. That is, to give up the regions occupied by the Russians, but with a guarantee of Ukraine's immediate accession to NATO. This hypothesis was not officially discussed at the last NATO summit in Brussels," the publication says.
