France and Germany allow KNDS to open a branch in Ukraine

Paris and Berlin have reached an agreement that will allow the French-German company KNDS, which produces tanks, to set up a branch in Ukraine. French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu said this after talks with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius in a Reuters publication.

"We announce that a French-German company will start operating in Ukraine by setting up a branch there," Lecornu said.

According to him, the company's unit will produce spare parts and train local personnel.

The tank manufacturer KNDS is a holding company formed by France's Nexter and Germany's Krauss-Maffei-Wegmann.
