The European Union will find it difficult to allocate an additional 50 billion euros for Ukraine if the United States stops support. This was stated by EU High Representative Josep Borrell in an interview with the Sud-Ouest newspaper.
"If this happens, the situation will be very difficult. It is hard to imagine that we will put another 50 billion on the table," Borrell said.
According to him, this could happen "only if there is political will in the EU countries," but this would require, among other things, to issue special bonds.
bonds.
"However, we are far from an agreement on this," the EU official said.
As a reminder, the US Congress has been unable to approve new funding for aid to Ukraine for several months. The reason for this is the position of some Republican congressmen who refuse to put the document to a vote and approve it.
