Germany announces new military aid package for Ukraine, but without Taurus

Germany has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine, but without long-range Taurus missiles. This was announced by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in a commentary for Radio Liberty before the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine, as reported by the German publication Tagesschau.

According to Tagesschau, during a press conference at the meeting, Pistorius announced a military aid package worth 500 million euros.

"In addition, Germany will support Ukraine's defense against the Russian-aggressor war in the short term with further supplies of ammunition. It is planned to supply 10,000 artillery shells from the Bundeswehr warehouses," the publication reports.

In particular, the new aid package will include: 100 units of armored vehicles for infantry; 100 units of transport vehicles.

In a commentary for Radio Liberty, Pistorius, when asked by journalists about the progress in providing Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles, said that "there is no news about it." At the same time, he emphasized that there is progress in the supply of ammunition.

"On the one hand, thanks to the Czech initiative, but we will also be able to announce another package here today. So, things are moving forward, sometimes in small, sometimes in big steps, but the main thing is the constant supply of ammunition," Pistorius said.
