Pashinyan says he is ready to adjust the border with Azerbaijan to prevent a new war

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that his country should be ready to adjust the border line with Azerbaijan, as Yerevan's goal is to prevent a new war. He said this at a meeting with residents of border villages in the Tavush district, which borders Azerbaijan in northeastern Armenia, Radio Azatutyun reports.

Pashinyan noted that Yerevan's policy is to prevent a new outbreak of war, and therefore the government decided to agree to a certain adjustment of the border line with Azerbaijan.

"Now we can leave here, go and tell Azerbaijan that no, we are not going to do anything. This means that at the end of the week the war will begin," he said.

Pashinyan went on to explain that in order to avoid war, the Armenian authorities are forced to adjust their border with the possible transfer of control of two villages - Voskepar and Kirants - to Baku.

Azerbaijan, according to local parliamentarians, claims eight border villages on the territory of Armenia.
