Armenia has frozen its participation in the CSTO, - Pashinyan

Armenia has suspended its participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). This was stated by the country's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with France 24.

In this interview, Pashinyan criticized Russia, "which dominates the CSTO".

According to the Armenian prime minister, "Russian propaganda against him is not weakening," and a few months ago, Russia "openly called on the Armenian population to overthrow the government."

Pashinyan also expressed "particular concern" over the actions of the Russians regarding the detention in Armenia of a Russian deserter, Dmitry Sertakov, who refused to fight against Ukraine and left Russia to move to Armenia. Pashinyan called the actions of Russian soldiers in Armenia, where there is a Russian military base, a kidnapping.

In this regard, the Armenian prime minister said that Yerevan will not tolerate illegal actions on its territory and warned that there could be "consequences."

Pashinyan also criticized Azerbaijan, calling peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan "unthinkable" and stating that Baku considers today's Armenia to be "Western Azerbaijan."

In addition, in his opinion, Azerbaijan is planning to seize new territories in Armenia.
