President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived at the front line of the Kupyansk direction and visited Ukrainian soldiers who are performing defense tasks in this area. This was reported by the press service of the President's Office.
These are the soldiers of the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great.
Zelensky heard a report from the brigade commander, Lieutenant Colonel Oleksiy Trubnikov, on the operational situation in the Kupyansk direction and interaction with adjacent units of the Defense Forces.
The brigadier also told the president about the experience of using various types of drones in the area of responsibility and about the peculiarities of combating enemy UAVs with electronic warfare systems.
In addition, Zelensky met with the military and awarded them with the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III degree, and "For Courage", II-III degrees.
"I am glad to be here today to see you, to congratulate you, to be grateful from all Ukrainians, from all of Ukraine, for doing such a great job every day, for protecting the state, our families, independence, our sovereignty. I am confident in you. I wish you good health, take care of yourself and your brothers-in-arms. This is very important. I wish you all victory," he said.
The Head of State awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and presented the Order "Golden Star" to Colonel Oleh Apostol, who has been serving in the Air Assault Forces since 2008 and is currently commanding the 95th separate air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
