Draft law on additional payments and benefits for the military was registered in the Rada

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence proposes to increase a number of additional payments and benefits for the military to motivate military service. This was announced by Committee Secretary Roman Kostenko (Golos faction).


"We now need to transform from an army of conscripts to an army of professional, motivated servicemen. To do this, Ukrainian defenders need an effective and predictable system of additional payments, benefits and guarantees. The focus should be on direct participants in hostilities," Kostenko wrote.


The corresponding draft law No. 11012 "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Motivation for Military Service" has been registered on the website of the Verkhovna Rada. According to Kostenko, it has already been supported by more than 70 MPs from different factions.


The document proposes to establish payments for the destruction or capture of enemy equipment. In particular, it is proposed to pay UAH 370,000 for a destroyed tank, self-propelled artillery system or MLRS. For an armored personnel carrier, armored personnel carrier, infantry fighting vehicle, command and staff vehicle, artillery system, the payment will be UAH 100,000, and for other armored vehicles or trucks, it is proposed to pay UAH 30,000.


For air defense systems and radar systems, it is proposed to set a reward of 370 thousand UAH, for counter-battery or electronic warfare systems - up to 150 thousand UAH. The destruction of a ballistic missile or reconnaissance and strike drones was estimated at 100 thousand UAH. It is proposed to pay UAH 500 thousand for a downed airplane and UAH 300 thousand for a helicopter.


The document also proposes to increase allowances for the length of military service. In addition, the draft law provides for the expansion of the list of grounds for demobilization.


The MPs propose to establish some benefits for military personnel with fixed terms of service, in particular on the front line, including car customs clearance, preferential rates for mortgages or loans to start a business.
