On the night of May 17, Russians attacked Ukraine using 20 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs. This was reported by the Commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk.
The Russians launched drones from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk regions of the Russian Federation.
The air attack was repelled by fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops of the Air Force, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and electronic warfare units.
As a result of the air battle, all 20 UAVs were shot down in Kharkiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.
