The Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, does not believe it is impossible to convince China and the countries of the Global South to support the Peace Formula, it just requires additional work. He said this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
"And so in this case, this is a completely new action (the Peace Formula - ed.), so it needs time to be explained. I will say right away: I do not see a dead end in terms of it being impossible (to convince China and the countries of the Global South and Latin America to support the Peace Formula - ed.) It requires work," Yermak said.
"First, I believe that, unfortunately, this is our big mistake. Over the past 30 years, we have not been sufficiently represented in these countries, we have not told them enough about Ukraine. As a result, they have no clear idea what Ukraine is, what we are fighting for, etc. But we have this task. We haven't fully corrected this mistake yet, but we are definitely working on all of them. The President has set such a task," Yermak said.
The second reason, according to Yermak, is related to the influence of Russia and the perception of these countries by Russia as the USSR.
He noted that this influence makes it difficult to get to know the real role of Ukraine in the past.
The third reason has to do with the relations of these countries with Ukraine's allies and the fourth is the lack of close relations.
Yermak believes that these problems can be solved with time and effort, and emphasized that Ukraine has already succeeded in attracting support for the Peace Formula from 82 countries.
Regarding relations with China, Yermak expressed confidence in the possibility of developing bilateral relations and solving unresolved issues.
He emphasized Ukraine's readiness for cooperation and the great potential in relations with China, calling for work on their further development.
