Part of the building of an infectious diseases hospital collapsed in Odesa

On January 19, a part of the wall of the circular building of the infectious diseases hospital collapsed in Odesa. This was reported by the Odesa City Council.

 

 

This building, which is an architectural monument of national importance, is in an extremely unsatisfactory and emergency condition and has not been in use for at least 5 years.


It is noted that there were no casualties as a result of the collapse.


According to First Deputy Mayor Oleksandr Filatov, specialists from the relevant services of the City Hall and scientists from the Odesa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture will inspect the building and provide recommendations on priority actions.


"Given that the building is an architectural monument of national importance, any work will be coordinated with the relevant state bodies," the City Council added.
