The US Senate has expressed support for a new resolution aimed at preventing a partial government shutdown by extending its funding until March, less than 48 hours before the start of a possible shutdown. The New York Times reports, citing the results of the vote in the upper house.
The approved bill provides funding for the executive power and state agencies.
Later, it became known that the bill on temporary funding of the US government successfully passed a vote in the House of Representatives. Now this document is being sent to US President Joe Biden for signature.
The new law extends the funding until early March, while it is noted that during this period, Congress must pass a full budget for the fiscal year 2024.
