Ukraine is preparing airfields to receive F-16 fighters: Pilots and engineers are involved in the exercises

Ukraine is preparing the airfield infrastructure to receive F-16 fighters. At the same time, pilots and engineers are being trained in the West. This was reported by First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavliuk on Telegram.

According to Pavliuk, work on the integration of the F-16 multi-purpose aircraft into the overall system of the Ukrainian Defense Forces continues both within Ukraine and within the framework of the international Air Force Coalition. These processes take place simultaneously.

"We are working to implement the Fast Track by the end of 2024. As part of it, we have assessed airfields for multi-role fighters. Also, our pilots and engineers have been training on F-16s since August 2023 under a wide range of programs," he said.

According to him, complex and painstaking work is underway inside Ukraine to prepare infrastructure, protect it, including with air defense systems, and on a number of other issues.

Pavliuk noted that training on the territory of Ukraine takes place under the conditions of the constant use of airfield infrastructure, engineers and flight personnel to perform combat missions.
