The new Polish government will maintain the ban on imports of Ukrainian grain to Poland

Poland will maintain the ban on imports of grain and some other agricultural products from Ukraine. The embargo will remain in effect until new rules are developed at the EU level. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski, PolskieRadio24 reports.

According to the official, a "good solution" could be the introduction of transportation licenses with the simultaneous use of transit routes outside of Poland.

Siekierski added that the export of Ukrainian grain should follow a different route than the European or Polish one.

"Because there is always a certain risk, even during transit, that some grain and other agricultural products will remain in Poland," the minister said.

As a reminder, a unilateral ban on imports of certain types of Ukrainian products was introduced by five EU countries in May. In September, three EU countries - Hungary, Poland and Slovakia - extended it.
